The Inspiration: The Art of Woven Grass

The Aesthetic: Kabuto by Patty Madden draws inspiration from kudzu cloth, a traditional Japanese textile woven from the fibres of the kudzu vine. Admired for its natural texture and handcrafted character, this woven cloth found a new life as a luxurious wallcovering known as grasscloth. Kabuto reimagines that heritage in this performance vinyl rendition, capturing the layered,
thatch-like appearance of woven fibres through richly tactile embossing and subtle tonal variation. The result brings the warmth and artistry of natural grasscloth to contemporary interiors with the durability of Type II wallcovering.
